Paul was born in Madison and grew up in Platteville. His late father George was a former UW football student-athlete and assistant coach.
After quarterbacking Platteville High School to a state title, Paul joins the UW football team. He would earn three letters from 1986-1989 playing linebacker, safety, quarterback and tight end.
Paul and his wife Robin have three children, Katy, JoJo and Danny.
